If you are looking for the “fun” beach atmosphere then head to Zephyr Cove – one of Lake Tahoe’s party beaches. Coming with kids? Further down from the bar is more family friendly beach zone so you can still be apart of all the amenities without less of the party energy. There is plenty of beach as it stretches more than a mile long and offers the best beach volleyball courts in the region. Getting out on the water is easy with almost every kind of watercraft rental available, including jet skis and boat rentals as well as the thrill of a parasailing adventure. Zephyr Cove has a large grassy area that is great for group events, a campground, beachfront cabins and lodging available, plus horse stables and a gift shop. Winter offerings include one of the largest snowmobile operations in the Tahoe area. Dogs are not allowed, but it is common to see them at the far northeast end of the beach. There is a parking fee in the lot nearest the beach, but when the lot fills up you will be directed to park at the high school across Highway 50 where there is no fee and you can take a shuttle to the beach. Zephyr Cove is located on Highway 50 about 3 miles from Stateline.
