Reagan Beach
Regan Beach, the City of South Lake Tahoe’s oldest beach, is a little more secluded than El Dorado Beach. It can best be described as more of a park than a beach, with lots of grass to play and relax on. Families love the playground, sand volley ball court, observation deck, and extensive snack bar/restroom facility. Regan Beach also offers an ideal setting for weddings with its ceremony area backed by amazing Lake Tahoe views. You can access the water by several stair cases that lead down to the water, but no sand found here for the kids to build castles with. There are several South Lake Tahoe beaches nearby with plenty of sand to sink your toes into.
A little known fact is that Regan Beach is a great setting for watching fireworks – it is close enough for a great show, but far enough away that you can avoid most of the traffic when the show is over. Although it has an extensive lake shore location, the beach itself is rocky and the water tends to be a little bit cloudy from the Truckee River runoff. Most people come to enjoy the facilities and the views. The park is handicap accessible, has a restaurant in the summertime, and there is no parking fee.
Location: Regan Beach is located off Lakeview Ave. Look for marked signs for the beach at the corner of Lakeview Ave. and Sacramento Ave.
