Nevada Beach and Campground
Nevada Beach is its own little adventure. The beach is best described as peaceful, quiet and huge! It is 0.7 miles long and in some places the sand is over 300 yards wide. Although this makes it a little on the windy side, the wind makes it popular for kiteboarders and can also help keep the bugs at bay. You can also enjoy boating, fishing, and water skiing. This is one of the few Lake Tahoe dog friendly beaches where you can take your dog for a dip at the south end of the beach. Another South Lake Tahoe beach that is dog friendly is Kiva Beach. Nevada Beach has a lot to offer and made our list of Lake Tahoe’s Best Beaches!
Nevada Beach Campground is onsite with dozens of tent and RV sites. Most of the sites are situated in a sparsely forested area on a hill, while some are in a sandy area with no trees. The landscape is ideal for gorgeous lake views from most campsites. Every site has a table, grill, campfire ring, and food storage locker, with flush toilets and drinking water nearby. The South Lake Tahoe casinos are just down the road a bit if you want to be near the casino action. Nevada Beach and Campground is one of South Lake Tahoe’s best, but might want to weigh in on several other nearby South Lake Tahoe camping and RV parks.
Visitors also enjoy strolling or biking the Lam Wa Tah Trail, a 2.6 mile long dirt trail that winds through the woods next to the lake. There is a parking fee, but it can be avoided if you park outside the beach area on Elks Point Road and walk or ride in on your bike. This is a great place for an easy hike or bike ride.
