Lake Tahoe Air Fest

If you love fast planes and want to see some of our nation’s best aerobatic performers and daring sky diving stunts, com to the annual Lake Tahoe Air Fest (also known as the Lake in the Sky Air Show). Taking place at the Lake Tahoe Airport in South Lake Tahoe, CA, this is one of the largest air festivals in the region with lots of action both in the air and on the ground to keep you entertained.  Check out the vintage military and general aviation planes, plus modern and experimental aircraft, take a helicopter ride, watch search and rescue demonstrations, and view the educational display by NASA.  There are lots of fun events and activities to take part in, so see the website for more details.

Friday, August 24: “Miracle on the Hudson” pilot Captain “Sully” Sullenberger to speak at the “Pre Flight” Party along with featured guests The Manhattan Dolls – the fabulous ’40s swing style female vocal trio. And – meet & greet military pilots and performers. At the Embassy Suites Hotel in South Lake Tahoe/Stateline. Doors will open at 7:00 PM.

Saturday, August 25: You won’t want to miss the spectacular opening ceremonies including performances by the Manhattan Dolls and Mooney ‘fly bys!’ And then get up close to several vintage Warbirds and military static display aircraft, including the Air Forces C-17 Globemaster. Plus many more military aircraft on display.
