The historic Camp Richardson Resort offers year-round activities. Take advantage of their full-service marina in the summer, and go cross country skiing in the winter. Many people come to spend the day at the sandy beach with a roped off swim area and rent kayaks, canoes, boats or jet skis. You can even enjoy a tasty meal in the lakeside restaurant, The Beacon Bar and Grill. You can’t leave without trying their famous cocktail called the Rum Runner. On summer weekends they often have live music in the afternoon out on the deck. Come sip your cocktail to the beat, watch the kids dig in the sand and soak in that beautiful Lake Tahoe view. Camp Richardson is a happening spot, but take some to visit other great Lake Tahoe beaches just down the road.
Camp Richardson Resort also offers Old Tahoe charm with cozy rooms and cottages in a unique lakefront setting. Their selection of lodging choices include historic lakeview and forest cabins, hotel lodge rooms, beachside inn, lakeside marina & beach duplex, and the Richardson House which is a seven bedroom home that sleeps up to 20 guests. Camp Richardson vacationers come year after year to relax and swim on the sandy beach, rent their favorite watercraft, and go hiking, biking, and horseback riding. In the winter Camp Richardson Resort offers 10km of groomed cross country trails, cross-country ski rentals and snowshoe rentals. Ask about their moonlight cross-country skiing. Camp Richardson Resort beach, as well as several other nearby South Lake Tahoe beaches, are accessible by a nice paved trail that winds through the national forest between the shoreline and Highway 89 (Emerald Bay Road). You can walk, run, or rent a bike to follow the tree-lined trail to your favorite beach and take a dip and enjoy a nice picnic. Located on the southwest shore of Lake Tahoe, Camp Richardson is the closest resort to Emerald Bay and is a gateway to Desolation Wilderness. While you are staying take one of many great South Lake Tahoe hiking trails.
