General Creek Campground at Sugar Pine State Park
Bring your tents, trailers, and motorhomes! Sugar Pine Point State Park’s General Creek Campground has 175 campsites, each with a table and stove, plus nearby restrooms, showers, and a sanitary dump station. There are 7 wheelchair friendly campsites as well as a paved path for walking, biking and wheelchair use. Family campsites can fit up to 8 people and 3 cars, while group sites can fit up to 40 people and 10 vehicles. Dogs are allowed on a leash in developed areas of the park, but are not permitted on park trails.
This pleasant Lake Tahoe campground is nestled in a beautiful forest setting with lots of shade and enough space between campsites to give you a fair amount of privacy. Enjoy the paved bike bath that winds through the forest campground and then heads north into Tahoe City, CA, where you have access to stores, groceries and more beaches!
There are plenty of hiking and biking trails to be found, and in the winter months there is a maze of cross country skiing trails in the park area. Less than a mile away is the Edwin L, Z’Berg Natural Preserve, Hellman-Ehrman Mansion/Pine Lodge, and the Sugar Pine State Park beach and lakeshore area. This historical area will add a magical moment to your vacation, so take an afternoon and relax along the shores of Lake Tahoe’s west shore.
Directions: Sugar Pine Point State Park and General Creek Campground is found 9 miles south of Tahoe City, CA, on Highway 89 and 18 miles from South Lake Tahoe (with access to the nearby beach).
