Donner Summit Bridge
The Donner Summit Bridge offers beautiful views near the area where Chinese workers labored to construct the transcontinental railroad across the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The bridge was originally built in 1924 and rehabilitated 1996. The Donner Summit Bridge has become a local icon for Truckee and the Donner Lake area. To see this bridge in person travel 2.5 miles west on old Hwy. 40 to the China Wall turnout. The scenic overlook is .3 miles west.
